Week 3 on Natural Health Plan

Things are going very well. My blood sugars are under really good control, I have lost some weight and I have energy. I have not felt this good in a very long time.

I went to see Dr. Blanchard today and he noticed that I had not lost any weight this week. He looked at me and said don't worry you are going to lose more weight your body is just dealing with other issues right now. I really appreciated his concern for me and that he knew that I was concerned about not losing any weight this week. My whole reason for going there was not to lose weight, but to not feel so tired. I guess he knows that I do want to lose some weight.

I am currently working very hard on getting my web site up, so I can post more detailed information about how things are going and the numbers of my blood sugars. I have been very impressed with how they are doing. Dr. Blanchard is keeping a close watch on them as well.

I have 4 articles written for my new web site and need 6 more. I will need much more than that for it to really take off, so keep me in your prayers as I am working to get them finished. I am very excited to get it up as soon as possible.

Have a great week!!!!

Week 1 of eating natural

Wow! What a week. This has been a great full of protein and vegetables. I know I have not kept up with my posts. I have had a crazy week, but they all seem that way any more. I am heading out of town this weekend as well, so it may be Sunday before I get anything else up.

Let me fill you in. I have been eating nothing but protein and vegetables for a week now and boy do I feel different. My energy is coming back, but still has a little ways to go and I feel better. I am adjusting my basal rates like crazy and I do not take any insulin when I eat for the most part. I did make chili this week and the organic tomato juice does have some carbohydrates, so I did have to take 2 units of insulin.

Let's talk about the basal rates. I have gone from taking 20 units of background insulin to 14 and I am still making adjustments. That is incredible and very exciting!

I have my doctors appointment later today, so I will have to fill you in later on what he has to say and any adjustments he makes.

Stay tuned for more exciting events in the life of a diabetic gone wrong to doing better.

Day 1 on the Natural Health Care Plan

I have started very well for the first morning. I look forward to the rest of the day and the week to follow.

At my appointment yesterday I was given an overview of what was found on my tests. It is very long and kind of boring, so I will not go into detail.

I am very limited as to what I can eat for right now because of the parasites and fungus we are trying to get rid of. After all, these things get into our bodies from what we eat. What I eat can and will change, but for the first 21 days I will be eating organic protein and vegetables. I have a list of foods I can eat and a list of the vegetables. Basically I can eat any vegetable as long as it is not a starchy vegetable.

I am taking four supplements. One of them is a sweet chewable tablet and another is a sour tablet that you suck on. I guess I could chew it up, but it is very sour and I don't think I can. Both of these supplements are to regulate my system and blood sugars. The other 2 I am taking are capsules and I will have to look up what those are for because I do not remember. They are not treating the parasites or fungus yet because if my system is not regulated they will not have a way to leave my body. It is going to take most of the 90 days to get rid of these little boogers, but I can be patient.

Let me fill you in on how my blood sugars were last week: 138, 40, 88, 32, 196, 210, 37, 125, 55, 75, 64, 58, 87, 52, 159, 129, 50, 248, 90, 145, 179, 252, 126, 210, 54, 87, 77. We will compare them each and every week to see if this is good for us and if we stop having the highs and the lows. My biggest priority is to keep my blood sugars as near to normal as possible. That means no higher than 120 and no lower than 80. Don't you want the same thing for yourself?

I will be adjusting my insulin basal rates as I lose weight because the heavier you are the more insulin you need. I will fill you in on my weight loss as well.

These next 4 months are going to be a lot of hard work, but if I feel better and am less tired, then it will be worth it.

I will be updating my blog more often, since I am now on the program, so check back a few times a week.

Early Update

I am very excited to be able to leave you this update early. Unfortunately I came down with a cold yesterday after my appointment and have been up most of the night. I had to stay home from work today, so I am posting my update early.

Wow!!! That is all I can think of right now. I learned some things yesterday about my body that no other doctor has picked up on. The first thing we did yesterday was of course fill out a bunch of paperwork. Then I watched a video explaining how the "Nutrition Response Testing " works. Next they took me into do the Heart Rate variability analysis. My heart is in very good condition, but this test showed that my energy level is very low, which would explain why I am tired all of the time. They said my energy level was in the range of someone who is in their 50's or 60's. They will work on getting my energy level where it needs to be.

Now for the "Nutritional Response Testing" - The doctor was very impressed on how healthy I was for being a Type 1 Diabetic for 27 years. He thought my pancreas would be asking for help, but it is my liver. He found fungus in my body that is making me crave sweets and 2 parasites, one big and one little. He also discovered that my choice of bras was affecting my heart. I thought that was very interesting. I had a wire bra on yesterday and the wire was affecting my heart, so I got rid of it when I came home. Thank goodness it was the only one I had. During the testing he used food to see what my body is allergic to and what my body needed. As he went through them it seems as if I will not be able to eat a whole lot. He joked that I would have to go on a diet. From what I remember, I can't have any grains, such as any kind of rice or corn, no wheat or anything else that is a grain. He tested me for dairy products and I can't have them either. That would be milk and cheese of course. He did say that I could eat organic eggs. He tested me for regular eggs and organic. My body does not like regular eggs. Next he used some supplements to see what my body needs to make it healthy. He did not fill me in on which ones I will be taking. I will get that next week.

I am a very different case from most of his patients because I am on an insulin pump. He said that he can't wait to see how everything goes and if in time we can improve my pancreas function. Don't get me wrong he can't cure diabetes, but apparently your pancreas does more than just produce insulin.

I have one other person that is a type 2 diabetic and she goes next week. I can't wait to see how things go with her.

I will be keeping track of my blood glucose readings through next Tuesday, so we can see how eating this way is going to improve them. I will then post them. I know in just a few days from when I start this plan I will be adjusting my basal rates (background insulin). My levels should be more controllable since I will not be eating any processed high starchy or sweet foods.

Stay tuned.....

Today is the Day

Today is the day for my visit to the Natural Health Care Doctor. My appointment is at 3:00 PM and will take and hour and a half. Then I need to rush home and get ready for church and pick up Katelyn. Needless to say I will not be able to update you about my appointment until Friday night or Saturday morning.

Here is what to expect as I go through this process. I will not get the results until next Tuesday, so I will not start the healthy eating part until Next Wednesday. I am going to update you on how my blood sugars do over the next week and then keep you updated on how they do while on this natural health plan. I will need to make some adjustments as I get started to my insulin pump as to how much insulin to be giving me in the background (basal rate) and will be figuring out how much to be taking with the foods I will be eating. There are websites to let you know how many carbohydrates are in the foods you are eating. I have used them before and will use them now as well.

I will let you know if and how much weight I lose as I go through this process as well. Everyone I have talked to that wants to lose weight has lost a lot of weight following this plan. After all it is the way God intended for us to eat in the first place. :)

I hope I can count on my blogging friends to hold me accountable, so I will keep on track. The first 21 days will be the hardest and then your body will get use to what you are doing and you won't crave the unhealthy treats that you love so much.

My husband and I are both looking forward to this and can't wait to see the results.

Have a great day!!!!

Donna's First Appointment

My friend Donna went to her first Natural Health Care doctors appointment Monday. After she had a very humorous story about finding a cotton outfit, she told be about how he analyzes your body. Let me say that you learn alot about your body here and your organs. Donna learned that her body does not work well with milk or anything that has dairy in it. Her body does not work well with Wheat or any kind of rice. She learned a few other things her body does not work well with, but I did not write them all down. The doctor also told her that her heart was in great shape, but her gall bladder was not working as it should. This are just what the doctor was telling her as he did the tests. She will get everything in writing next week as to how she should start to heal her body. I do know the first 21 days are a cleansing process to get all of the toxins out of your body.

Let me tell you about some of the tests he did. The tests are called nutrition response testing. From what Donna was telling me you would put your left hand on say wheat and if your right hand that you are holding up falls a bit, you do not work well with that. It may seem confusing and weird, but I have heard so many success stories from people who are seeing this doctor. You do this with several food items and the doctor will learn what works best with your body. This does not mean you can't eat or drink certain things for the rest of your life. You will keep them out of your diet for a while and then they may bring it back to see if your body is more accepting of it. I have heard for a very long time now that Wheat, as we all think, is not the best for most people to be eating.

As I was talking to my husband last night, he was telling me about people he works with that are seeing this doctor as well. One guy had a high amount of mercury in his body. The doctor asked him if he worked near a factory or plant. He said yes, there is one right down on the river from his work. I thought that was amazing that even if you are not near a plant or factory, that produces all that smoke and pollution you can see affects in our bodies.

I wish I could give you more, but my first appointment is next Wednesday. I will have a first hand experience on what exactly goes on. Especially being a type 1 diabetic. What will pop up in the tests he runs on me? The people that go to this doctor who are type 2 diabetics have been saying their blood sugars are consistently running in the 90's. Is that not exciting!!!! I will let you know what my blood sugars will be running as a type 1 diabetic when I start the program. To read more about the tests go to www.covenantnaturalhealthcare.com. The first 2 tabs at the top of the page will describe the tests and there is a picture, at the top of the page, of him doing the tests.

I do want to add one thing. I am working on my own website and will have it up in the next few weeks hopefully. This current site does not seem to be very user friendly or look that great. I have found away to make it more eye appealing and be able to create links for you as well. I will post the new website as soon as I have it up. I am looking forward to getting it put together for you.

Thank you for stopping to see what is up in the world of Natural Health Care.

What do you think about raw milk?

OK, it is getting closer to the day I have my first appointment with the natural health care doctor. Two weeks to be exact. My friend has her first appointment next Monday the 24th. She is going to give me the low down, so be checking back.

I have been reading the natural heath care website and they have a links section and the very first link is to a farm that sells raw milk. My brother has been drinking raw milk, from a goat, for a while and he absolutely loves it. A few weeks ago we went to a friends house, for game night, and raw milk came up in the conversation. I then saw this link on the natural health care website for raw milk. I have known for a while that this is the best way to be getting your milk because it is more natural, but it appears to me that I have been hearing so much about it, that the Lord may be trying to tell me something. With that in mind I decided to do some research. I first looked up how milk is pasteurized. I found a site that talked about a lot of things that are way over my head and I did not understand. My simple mind immediately thinks that if it is so complicated, that I can't understand it, it is not good for me. I then found a site that explains raw milk to me. It was so much easier to understand. Here is the website: www.douglassreport.com/reports/raw-milk.html?gclid=CKOy45Xhr5wCFVhJ2godBBm3PA. Let me know what you think. I would love to know what other people are thinking about drinking raw milk.

I don't think God made milk cows the way they are if he did not want us to drink their milk in the natural state.

I look forward to hearing from you!
